DIACAP C&A Training Immediately Available From SecureInfo
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – July 24, 2006 - SecureInfo® Corporation, a leading provider of managed security services, professional security services and compliance solutions, today announced that SecureInfo RMS™, the leading Certification & Accreditation (C&A) Software in the federal government, now supports the Department of Defense’s DIACAP (DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process). DIACAP will replace the previous standard, DITSCAP (Defense Information Technology Security Certification and Accreditation Process) across all branches, services, combatant commands and agencies in the DoD.
DIACAP establishes the standard DoD process for identifying, implementing and validating Information Assurance (IA) Controls for authorizing the operation of DoD information systems and for managing IA posture across DoD information systems consistent with Title III of the E-Government Act, the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) and DoD Directive 8500.1. SecureInfo’s RMS simplifies and automates the security C&A process and enables organizations to accelerate compliance and policy documentation while creating a centralized, consistent, repeatable and high quality C&A program. RMS directly supports the DIACAP process by linking and mapping all Federal, DoD and service branch (Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines) security requirements to the 8500.2 IA controls.
SecureInfo's C&A experts follow a detailed and structured process that allows them to break down DIACAPregulations into security domains and categories and then create new action-oriented requirements. These new requirements are then delivered to customers through SecureInfo's compliance content maintenance plan.
“Many government agencies rely on SecureInfo RMS to simplify and accelerate the C&A process,“ said Keith Frederick, founder of SecureInfo, Inc. “Our broad and deep information assurance experience and our ability to apply information security expertise and technology to support the Department of Defense and other government organizations with all phases of the C&A process, enables us to stay ahead of the curve and quickly respond to newly mandated regulatory standards such as DIACAP. We are committed to delivering quality, timely solutions that serve the information security and compliance requirements of our customers.” Mr. Frederick is on the NIST C&A Review Committee and was asked to assist in reviewing the DIACAP process.
“The foundation of SecureInfo's industry-leading solution is the Company’s expertise and in-depth understanding of DITSCAP, DIACAP and other Government regulatory processes.” added Mr. Frederick. “SecureInfo has applied this in depth understanding to develop RMS, which offers immediate support for DIACAP. RMS is essential for centralizing and performing consistent, repeatable, high quality C&As.”
SecureInfo’s RMS is widely deployed in many government agencies, including the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security and NASA.
SecureInfo will be offering Web classes throughout August and September to provide an overview of DIACAP and how it relates to existing regulatory processes. Additionally, SecureInfo’s Advanced DITSCAP course, whichcovers an in-depth tutorial on the DITSCAP-to-DIACAP transition, is currently being hosted by the SANS Institute at Virginia Beach from August 27 – August 31, 2006.
