SecureInfo Plays Key Role at the Department of Homeland Security Annual Information Security Conference

SecureInfo’s FISMA and Network Security Experts Present, Participate in Roundtables, and Lead Training on Top DHS Security Initiatives

SecureInfo personnel presented on several topics including, “Mitigating Risk by Minimizing Data Leakage,” and “Automating the DHS Re-accreditation FISMA Process using SecureInfo RMSTM.” SecureInfo personnel also lead training classes for RMS and participated in a number of roundtables.

Dr. James Ransome, PhD, CISM, CISSP, is senior vice president commercial managed and professional services for SecureInfo and a retired U.S. Naval Reserve Intelligence Officer. Dr. Ransome presented a lessons-learned approach to minimizing data leakage. The presentation took a holistic approach and focused on preventing data leakage by applying people, processes, technology, and intelligence to reduce the complexity and cost of keeping pace with evolving vulnerabilities and security threats while addressing personnel, physical, environmental, business continuity, and compliance issues.

Karyn Broughton, vice president of federal professional services, and Michael Panasenko, senior product manager for SecureInfo, presented “Re-accrediting the DHS C&A and FISMA Process using RMS.” This briefing discussed the agency’s enterprise-wide automated certification & accreditation (C&A) program using SecureInfo RMS and highlighted how DAA’s (Designated Accrediting Authorities) can significantly reduce the cost and efforts of accomplishing C&As by taking advantage of ‘type accreditations’ for typical operating environments, a unique feature of SecureInfo RMS.
