NASA to Rely on SecureInfo RMS for FISMA Compliance
San Antonio, TX, October 4, 2005 - SecureInfo® Corporation, a leading provider of technology and expert services which strengthen sustainable information security compliance, announced today that NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) has selected the SecureInfo Risk Management System™ (RMS) as its enterprise-wide information security compliance solution for Certification and Accreditation (C&A).
NASA’s Office of Security and Program Protection is leading the agency-wide effort to automate the documents IT system owners need to maintain and report compliance with regulations, such as NIST Special Publication 800-37, and aid in standardizing C&A preparation across NASA enterprise systems. SecureInfo RMS will be deployed at all NASA Centers to assist system owners within the Mission Directorates to quickly and effectively develop a complete, approval-ready security compliance document set that demonstrates NASA adherence to Federal Government regulations and requirements.
“SecureInfo RMS provides automated enterprise-wide certification and accreditation processes that simplify, accelerate and report accurate documentation for FISMA compliance,” said Graham Palmer, executive vice president, compliance solutions at SecureInfo. “This partnership, combined with SecureInfo’s proven C&A solution, will allow NASA to work more efficiently to document information security practices in a repeatable and consistent manner.”
“SecureInfo RMS allows us to centrally manage and streamline the compliance process, keep the flexibility needed for the vast array of systems we have at NASA, and still ensure the agency’s overarching information security policy is adhered to,” commented Jamil Farshchi, C&A program manager, NASA Office of Security and Program Protection.
“NASA is an organization with a deep understanding of, and commitment to, information security,” said Steve Kiser, CEO and president at SecureInfo. “We have a long history of successfully providing outstanding information security compliance solutions to address the diverse needs of federal customers like NASA. It is a synergistic fit for both of us and we look forward to a great working relationship.”
SecureInfo RMS is the automated enterprise-wide Certification and Accreditation solution for the Department of Homeland Security and its 22 agencies as well as for many other Federal Civilian and Department of Defense organizations.
