SW Engineer
Location: Ft Belvoir, VA
Description: A Network Admin/Security Admin to provide technical support in the Vulnerability Assessment Detachment's Network Lab.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Install and configure LAN/WAN hardware and software components
- Maintain inventory baseline of network management and system-level components
- Assist with implementation of network security measures
- Assist in developing system-level requirements and engineering network designs
- Assist with the management of network control documents
- Research and recommend new network technologies for integration into the existing network
Minimum Qualifications: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
- Degree within Information Technology field with 5 years experience or 9 years of experience without degree.
- Strong foundation and knowledge of computer networking, to include TCP/IP
- Practical experience with UNIX and Windows operating systems, Intrusion Detection/ Prevention Systems (IDS/ IPS), and Firewalls
- Understanding of computer/ network security practices
- Familiarity with common programming or scripting languages (e.g. C/C++ or Perl)
- Willingness to travel, approximately 30%, to stateside locations
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
- Current CCDA, CCDP, CCNA, CCSP, MCSE, or Linux+
Security: Must possess an active TS/SCI Clearance
