CNO Analyst

Location: Ft Belvoir, VA

Description: A Computer Network Operations Analyst to work at the Army's 1st Information Operations Command.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs black and white targeted penetration testing against internal and external networks using a variety of COTS and open source security tools
  • Recommend remediation actions
  • Assists in the Certification and Accreditation Process
  • Teaches and QCs the Army PT methodology at remote sites
  • Develops and updates PT policy and training documentation
  • Develops tests and training labs to challenge junior PT technicians
  • Recommends and tests new tools for the PT program (documenting the results)
  • Performs technical vulnerability assessments and reports results
  • Provides expertise in the implementation of DOD related security policies
  • Recommends policy and procedures for Army CND
  • Research new internet hacking techniques

Qualifications:

  • Broad knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, data encryption, and other industry-standard security techniques and practices
  • Knowledge of applicable practices and laws relating to data privacy and protection
  • Expert knowledge of CANVAS or Core IMPACT
  • Either CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) or CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) certifications and obtain the other certification within six months of hire
  • A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in CND
  • A minimum of 2 years as a systems administrator
  • Must be able to travel outside of the United States on scheduled missions.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks
  • Flexibility to operate effectively in a changing environment
